The altered book is an art form in which artists recycle and transform existing books into new works of art. Discover the intricate, delightful and artistic work created by artists from Sparksartists.

Altered Books Basics Workshop
24 February, 10am – 4pm
A marvellous opportunity to learn the basics of the art of altered books with book artist Heather Hunter. In this workshop you will investigate simple techniques to start respectfully altering a book. No previous experience is needed. Cost £45 per person. Elisabeth Frink: sculptures, drawings, prints
10 February – 21 April
A fabulous opportunity to see sculptures of animals, heads and human figures by the famous 20th century artist, Elisabeth Frink, who is well known for her life-sized sculpture of a black horse outside Lloyds Bank in Milton Keynes. The exhibition commemorates the 25th anniversary of Frink’s death in 1993 and the 40th anniversary of the Lloyds’ commission.

Marvellous Masks
Tuesday 13 February
Design your own face mask. Drop in 10am and 12 noon or 1pm and 3pm. £3 per child. No need to book. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Secret Keepsake Books
Wednesday 14 February
Decorate your own keepsake book to keep your treasures in. Drop in 10am and 12 noon or 1pm and 3pm. £3 per child. No need to book. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Imaginarium Art Attack
Thursday 15 February
Be inspired to create your own work of art on canvas. Drop in 10am and 12 noon or 1pm and 3pm. £3 per child. No need to book. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rock and Fossil Day
Saturday 17 February, 11am – 3pm
Explore hands-on displays of rocks and fossils, meet experts and bring along your own specimens for identification. Family fun.
