World War I remembered

Commemorations took place across the county last week and especially last Sunday (11 November) to mark 100 years since the end of World War One.

As well as the traditional services and wreath-laying there were other events too including bell ringing, beacon-lighting and bugle playing.

In the afternoon The Gateway in Aylesbury played host to a special Thank You event organised jointly by local councils, the Royal British Legion and other partners.

There was live music, poetry readings, stall and displays, ration lunches and afternoon teas.
